Atlantic Coast Movers

We moved from Halifax NS to East York ON. The move itself took 7 days. The price was very competitive, but not the cheapest on the market. I have learnt to beware of cheap movers. I am happy I found these guys and received outstanding moving service! All the furniture was double wrapped and loaded in a professional manner. After 7 days all the belongings arrived in the same condition. Atlantic Coast Movers impressed me and my family with their punctuality, politeness and professionalism. We do recommend them!

Service cost: $1500

We moved a one bedroom with them from Vancouver to Montreal. They moved our furniture well. Nothing was broken or out of place. I was not entirely impressed with the customer service however. 1 day before drop off they tell me that they are having "technical difficulties" with credit card processing and we will need to have cash in order to get our furniture. We expressed that we did not have cash as we were solely living off of a credit card until our next payday. I expressed that this was hard for us and I asked what happens if we can't get cash in time. They told us that we would have to figure it out on our side and a man called Max replied in an email with "We hope that you will have cash for tomorrow. Let's hope for the best". which I do not believe is a full response since we needed to pay our building a large fee to secure the elevator. Since moving is stressful this also put us more into a stressful state.

Day of move they said fine they'll accept credit card (what do you know). Another thing I wasn't impressed with was they said we couldn't see our furniture until we paid the full amount. It felt like they were holding our furniture hostage. We couldn't make sure the furniture was all there or not broken before we paid. As I was expressing this to the customer service guy on the phone, the guy on the phone told me to "hurry up (finish the call) because if they get a parking ticket I'll have to pay" which was very pushy and threatening. He didn't even pretend to try and understand our side or talk with us about it.

So all in all they got our furniture safely from Vancouver to Montreal but I was not impressed by the customer service.

Worst service ever! We've moved province to province before and didn't be have a bit of trouble with our movers, using Atlantic coast, Miracle Movers, Centennial, whichever they choose to call themselves, was a nightmare! They broke our stuff and wouldn't replace it. They refused to reassemble anything they took apart, even refused to bring my treadmill into the house we were moving into. They also charged us double what they quoted us, arrived 5 days late, told us they couldn't load everything we had because they didn't have enough space. They couldn't provide us with the weigh tickets to prove that the weight they were charging us for was accurate, we are so completely upset and sickened that a company can operate in this manner and still remain in business. It's only because they remove all of the bad reviews they get. Save yourself the misery and go with a more reputable company!

Moving for me is very important since I do move each year across Canada for work reasons, and I have been dealing with Atlantic for the past 2 years total 3 moves. Very positive staff and professional, clean truck covering all the goods with special material, placing them in secure way in the truck, always updating on the states of the truck. Very attentive staff, replying back on my emails was within an hour sometimes few minutes, very stress free company. I really hope with this comment, I could express myself on the best service I got from them, looking forward with Atlantic next year.

If you ever relocated in your life, you should be aware how difficult it is. You have to pack all your belongings and prey they shall arrive safely to your new house. That the moving company shall not be a fraud, and will leave you afterwards with your undamaged furniture and some cash in your pocket. Believe me, I know what I’m speaking about, I had some bad experience over the last 5 years, since I had to move 4 times. Well, as for me - I’m happy I found this guys. They managed to surprise me by their friendly attitude and quick labor. I moved from Calgary to Toronto within 8 days, and it was the easiest move I’ve had so far. I certainly recommend this Company to everybody who needs a smooth relocation.

I had recently moved with Atlantic Coast Movers and I promised to take some time and report on the experience I had with using them for my move. I am very happy to say that the service was very good and what you would expect from a moving company. I have moved several times across the country and I have had bad movers and goods arriving damaged and delays with my pickup or delivery and also had good movers but at a very high price. I have to say that I did receive an initial general quote that was very low. I contacted them after that directly by phone and actually the rep informed me that the quote may increase. I filled out an inventory form and got a revised quote. The final cost was even less than the quote. They offered mattress covers for free which was the first time someone offered it at no extra cost as all other companies were selling them. I was very surprised. We moved from Prince Albert, SK and the goods were picked between the days they promised and delivered them in about 4 days. Great service from the very start!

It was such a pleasure to work with Atlantic Coast Movers! From the first tough by getting a quote I felt companies dignity. When you speak with professional team you just know everything will go smoothly. Indeed it was smoothest move I've ever had. I received a quote via email and then a phone call with a thorough explanation of the service. Also I requested boxes to my pick up address. The moving team was punctual and work diligently till the end. The moving team helped me to pack my own car, it was a great help and I appreciate everything what they did for me. Atlantic Coast Movers provides amazing moving service. We moved a couple of times with different moving companies, but none of the company arrived on time. And none of the company provided us that much helpful information as Atlantic Coast Movers did. Every single step during the moving process was taken professionally and very efficient. This time our moving experience was smooth and pleasant. The customer service over the phone was just great, professional, ethical and very informative. The movers were friendly, hard working and showed up on time. The movers were focused on their job and didn't waste the time and never slackened the pace. Everything was delivered in the same good conditions as it was during the loading time. Thank you Atlantic Coast Movers. You are the best in moving!

Atlantic Coast Movers the most professional and efficient moving company I have ever hear about. My friends recommended me to use it. And it was a good decision to go with Atlantic Coast Movers. First of all I requested the quote and the price was the most adequate on the market. I moved from Halifax to Toronto ON. I had a lot of heavy stuff in my 3 bedrooms house. Thanks to Atlantic Coast Movers there was not damages, no losses and i'm so happy that we did it together. It was my first long distance move, and I do recommend Atlantic Coast Movers.

This was my first moving where I wasn’t stressed out or worried because my movers showed utter organization and professionalism from day one. You would find people pulling their hair out and getting worried with the tantrums some movers put up, however with Atlantic Coast Movers we had no problem of this type. The guys helped me relocate from  Calgary to Scarborough, On in 5 days and it was fantastic. The final price was really affordable and we received A Class services and I would have no hesitation and in fact pride in recommending them to all the people looking for a fantastic move.

Its always hard to change something in your life: your job, home etc., but sometimes you see no other choice. So why not to make all these changes pleasant, after all its only up to you how to feel about moving, you can whine around that its too expensive and too difficult, or you can hire specialists and take a break. And that's exactly what we have done. After hiring Atlantic Coast Movers my family and I peacefully packed all that worth packing and left for a new life. That means from Vancouver to Toronto). Only problem for us was that we had to live for a week at the hotel, but after 8 days of expectation we heard the most expected phone call, and everything started to change. By evening all our belongings were unloaded and we could finally sleep in our cozy beds. Wish you all, guys, good luck with your moves, hire only the best!

Please don’t fall for the moving companies who quote ridiculously cheap numbers! I think it’s better to hire a company who knows how to do the job properly; even if that costs you a little more. I hired Atlantic Coast movers to handle my move because of their reputation. They are definitely not the cheapest moving company, but they charge very fairly. They really didn’t disappoint me. Their men were very efficient- from packing to loading! I was very glad to receive the delivery of all my belongings in perfect condition on the scheduled date. I really couldn’t have asked more. I think those few extra dollars really added value to this service.

Here are a few facts about my experience with Atlantic Coast Movers:
- delayed pick up of 2 days (had to move out, dissemble and store the furniture at my own expense)
- very friendly and careful movers both at pick up and delivery.
- was applied a 50 dollars discount compensation, whether I accepted it or not ,and was non-negociable once applied.
- was offered early delivery (avoiding redelivery fees) which got cancelled by the time I confirm the address.
- delivery date changed 3 times
- wasn't confirmed the final weight until I asked. Estimation was quite off (1br=1755 lbs..).
- couldn't make a payment with credit card (tried 3 of them..) and had to pay cash
-missed a couple items. Was returned one a couple days later and started a claim for the 2nd.
-did not get compensation for the lost items (your relocation was covered under the Basic Liability Coverage at $0.60 per pound of damaged and lost articles. According to the damaged items the total weight should be between 60 and 100 lbs in total. We will take the maximum of 100lbs and therefore the sum of compensation will be $60, but as you are aware there is a deductible of $300 on each claim and if the amount of compensation does not exceed the amount of the deductible, the carrier is entitled to not proceed with any compensations.)

Moving isn't easy and Atlantic Coast Movers did not make it easier.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1533

In a nutshell: ended up paying double what they quoted, for good delivered outside the delivery window (and delayed twice), several of which were damaged or broken. They rarely replied to email - had over a week where I didn't know where my stuff was (and periodically got calls asking when I'd be in Toronto - I was moving from Halifax to Winnipeg). Had to pay a company I'd never heard of (a lot of subcontracting so you don't really know who you are hiring), to someone I'd never met before they would open a UHaul and I could actually see the goods were mine. Some of the movers were nice people (though one complained and made inappropriate comments)- but VERY poorly managed. You really have no idea where your stuff is and end up feeling like your stuff is being held hostage. I'd much rather an accurate quotation from the get go, and accurate timeline. Also - very few driveways can hold a semi trailer - they really should incorporate needing a smaller truck into their business model to avoid being late due to needing a UHaul (or look it up on google maps). I did communicate all these concerns to them in an email - they never replied. I should add - they also listed everything as scratched damaged from the outset to avoid liability.

I move quite a bit for work and chose to use Atlantic Coast Movers for my move from Nova Scotia to Ottawa based on their reviews. Let me be clear, this was my WORST moving experience to date. Not only were there multiple delays with the pickup but what was worse was the lack of communication. I had to repeatedly call the customer service representatives to stay on top of what was transpiring. I didn't feel they understood my frustration and no efforts were made to ease my mind during this stressful time.

When drop-off came around, I assigned someone to receive the load. It wasn't until I arrived a week later and opened my boxes, that I noticed the multiple damages, scrapes, and scratches (not to mention a non functioning TV) as well as a missing box of kitchen appliances. I even had to contact the representatives by e-mail and phone on multiple occasions to even get a response to my initial damage claim. To which I was declined due to "the lateness of my submission". Had I known my things had a risk of being damaged to this extent, I would've made sure I was there to receive everything but I made the mistake of trusting this company and thinking all were in caring and sympathetic hands. My absence was taken advantage of and I know this by the way everything was dumped and left. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION MEANS NOTHING TO THEM.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1396

I had just moved with Atlantic Coast Movers from Vancouver to Toronto. I am glad to share that nothing was lost or damaged. The movers at both places were punctual, professional and efficient. The initial quote was pretty accurate, and all the charges were clear. We did however had to wait 1.5 months for our stuff to arrive, and the situation was at times very frustrating. We understand that delays are sometimes unavoidable, but would have appreciated some more transparency in the communication.

We moved from Vancouver to Toronto. Having worked in customer service I have learned that people usually review to complain, not to commend. So well done Atlantic for handling me and my possessions with the upmost respect and for delivering within my desired relocation period. The move itself was smooth. I have finally finished unpacking and I can now report that everything made it intact. So once again a huge thanks and you can be sure that I will be putting your name out there as a great relocation service.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2450

I was moving from Ontario to Nova Scotia, getting a quote, arranging the pick up and the pick up seemed to have gone well, but it ended up being worse then my worst case scenario for the move.
They emailed me the day before I was expecting my things to arrive in Halifax that they were not able to get my things on the truck. They offered to find someone else to take my things (they couldn’t find anyone), for me to arrange a pickup and transport (fly back and rent a uhaul?), or wait a month and a half for my things and get $200 off my move.
Their contract states that in the event of a delay they are supposed to cover reasonable room amd board, I had to send their customer service a picture of it because they didn’t know what I was talking about. They point blank refused, no one called me to apologize for the inconvenience, they just offered an additional $50 off my move (250). Which in no way came close to the expense of paying the rent for an apartment I couldn’t move into or the things I had to buy to replace things I have in transit. Eventually I had to purchase a new mattress, and cooking utensils and move into an empty apartment. None of which the company offered any help with. Or showed any concern or remorse for having put me in this situatiom
Then a couple days before they finally are bringing my things, they tell me it is going to cost double what they quoted me. Had they given me an accurate quote, it is unlikely that I would have chosen them initially.

I understand that things can be late, and I understand that quotes are variable. But, having a move be more then double the quote, and take more then twice as long is far from reasonable.

When I called the company they refused to even bring the cost down to what they had quoted me, as they would have lost money.

When I told them that I would have difficulty getting the much higher then expected amount, they said I had a couple of days to borrow the money.

So, the company took my stuff held on to it for over a month and a half, gave me a credit which I find out a couple days before I will finally receive it is $300 more then I was initially quoted. And they wanted it in cash on moving day or else I need to pay in advance of delivery.

I am so pleased with Atlantic for my long distance move. It was a long and not too easy job involved. But the men kept positive attitude throughout, which also maintained my spirits. You can just tell that the movers were highly trained and experienced, not letting any challenges phase them at all. All of my furniture and exercise equipment arrived safely and they took care of every item. I was also impressed with the speed shown by this mover in packing and unpacking. Top level of service provided and I feel lucky to have found them. Will be utilizing them again.

I only have great things to say about Atlantic. Glowing report!! All facets of our move were handled correctly and expeditiously. I give the moving team a 10 with the overall move. All items packed well and padded up with blankets. Everything arrived intact, wonderful! I have had some moves in the past that I can can only describe as nightmares, So listen to me when I state that this was one of my best moves ever. My sincerest gratitude to all that were involved in my smooth relocation.

If you are not sure on a mover you can rely on and your relocation date is closing in, then Atlantic is the company to turn to. I can vouch for them as they handled my Toronto-Calgary move with aplomb! You see long distance moves are usually marred with damages and delivery time mismanagement, but mine did not have any of these. I have made up my mid, never to look anywhere else to find a relocation service other than Atlantic. I was totally satisfied with the service you provided.
